Mangal Dosh (Mangal Dosha) is one of the most discussed doshas in Vedic astrology, especially in the context of marriage. Let us understand it from both a scientific and astrological perspective.
What is Mangal Dosh?
When Mars is placed in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th, or 12th house in a person's birth chart, that person is called Manglik. Special caution is advised regarding marriage for individuals with this placement.
Effects of Mangal Dosh
- Delay in marriage
- Tension and conflicts in married life
- Adverse effects on the spouse's health
- Possibility of divorce or separation
When is Mangal Dosh Cancelled?
- If Mars is in Aries, Scorpio, Capricorn, or Cancer
- If Jupiter or Moon is conjunct with Mars
- If both partners are Manglik (Manglik + Manglik = dosha nullified)
- After the age of 28, the effect of Mangal Dosh reduces significantly
Remedies
Kumbh Vivah
The Manglik person first "marries" a Peepal tree, a banana tree, or an idol of Lord Vishnu. This ritual is believed to transfer the dosha to the tree or idol.
Mantra Chanting
"Om Kraam Kreem Kraum Sah Bhaumaya Namah"
Chant this mantra 108 times every Tuesday.
Hanuman Worship
Visit a Hanuman temple every Tuesday. Hanuman Ji is considered the deity of Mars and his worship pacifies the planet's negative energy.
